As part of the Pompeii Archaeological Park's Casa del Giorno initiative (House of the Day), Casa del Porcellino/IX. ix. c is now open to the public. The property had been undergoing renovations and is now open on Mondays.
Casa del Porcellino features two domestic cult spaces: a niche with a simple aedicula facade (PP554) located in the atrium and a detailed cult painting (PP555) located in the kitchen depicting the Lares and serpent deities, alongside various food items including a pigs head, which gives the house its name.
