Room function:
Commercial space (Hospitality)
Description:
Located on the south wall of the main commercial room was a rectangular niche. Recent photographs show the niche in a poor state , with the only decoration surviving belonging to remnants of a marble base, which would have originally projected. An etching from 1771 showed the niche possessed a simple façade, with plain backets to support the projecting base. The top portion of the façade was already destroyed by this time, however, it likely extended into a simple pediment, forming an aedicula. Today only an impression of the façade in the stucco around the opening of the niche survives.
