Wall Painting

Room function:

Cubiculum/Bedroom

Description:

On the north wall of a cubiculum located off the south west corner of the peristyle was a cult painting. This painting featured oriental deities, with a female figure in the centre holding a cornucopia and a sistrum while placing her foot on a globe and leaning on a rudder, clearly Isis-Fortuna. Beside her stood a young person sat on a horse, identified as the god Harpocrates. On the right stood Amor, holding a torch. Across the top and hanging down the sides were garlands. An inscription was painted above the scene.
