Structural type:

Aediucla, Wall Painting

Room function:

Peristyle/Portico

Description:

On the south side of the peristyle, beside the door to the kitchen, was a fragmentary cult painting. At the time of Boyce's recording, only the left side was visible which showed a yellow serpent coiling around an altar with fire. The entire scene was originally framed by a red-painted aedicula within which were green garlands with red flowers across the top and hanging down the sides. The property was heavily damaged in WWII, which destroyed the cult painting, so its exact location is not certain.
