Description:
Located on the north wall of a peristyle was an arched niche. The niche sat 2.90m above the floor. It had a heavy projecting ledge beneath it. On the back wall was a painting of a burning altar adorned with a garland, with two eggs on top. A palm branch was painted on either side of the altar which was yellow with a red ribbon attached. The wall around the niche was coated in white stucco. Below the niche were red spots painted to represent a dado. A mezzanine-like structure was originally present below the niche, allowing access, however, this had been removed prior to the eruption.
