Culina/Kitchen
Description:
Located on the east and south walls of the kitchen was a cult painting, sitting above a counter. Iron nails and holes were found at the top of the painting indicating that real garlands were hung on the scene. However, as the scene was so badly preserved when it was excavated, no figures could be recognised. Red, yellow, and green garlands adorned with taeniae could be seen at the top of the scene, with traces of blue believed to belong to a Lar. There was evidence of several layers of paint indicating repainting after 62 A.D. for a new owner of the property.
