Description:
In the west wall of the garden was an arched niche, sitting 1.5m above the ground. The niche had a stucco aedicula façade, with a cornice running around the interior walls. The niche sat within a larger red-painted panel which matched the wider decoration of the room. The niche had a heavy projecting base. Now largely faded, a simple aedicula was painted around the niche as if to frame the shrine. Its flat roof was painted a yellow-ochre colour which is still visible today.
