Description:
During emergency excavations, a masonry curved recessed structure with a pool at its base was found, believed to belong to a nymphaeum. Decoration was only known through reconstructed stucco fragments. It consisted of fragments of paintings, cornices and a stucco scallop shell that had covered a structure made of perishable materials, including reeds and wooden slats that have left their imprints on the back of the cornices and paintings. Based on the fragments, the structure had a curved niche, which was painted, as well as a stucco moulded entablature. Painted fragments included depictions of green plants on a white background with red ribbons, patches of red and yellow imitation marble, and various other fragments indicating the presence of a red border on the features of the structure. Shells were used to decorate the cornice of the structure and were placed in between red painted dots. The upper cornices were painted red. The property is not fully excavated so the wider context of the shrine is uncertain.
