Room Function:
Cubiculum
Description:
Located on the south wall of the first-floor cubiculum was a wooden pediment belonging to an aedicula-style shrine. The pediment appeared to be basic in form, with a plain architrave below. The pediment was carbonised and remains in place in the room today; however, the remainder of the shrine has been lost, and so its full appearence is unknown. A carved wooden bust of a woman was found near the shrine and is believed by some to have been Venus.
