Cult Space Type:
Shrine
Date:
79 A.D.
Features:
Podium
Associated
Cult Spaces:
PP390, PP391
Room function:
Exedra
Description:
Located against the northern wall of the exedra was a masonry base. It is possible that this base served as a podium for an aedicula shrine. It had a square form and is in a bad condition today. Photographs from the early 20th century indicate that the podium was much taller initially. No decoration survives. The podium sat on the axial line of the house and would have been visible from the street.
