Cult Spaces:
-
Room function:
Courtyard
Description:
Jashemski noted the existence of a large cult space in the northwest corner of the courtyard. Images from outside the property show that this consisted of a large masonry structure with a sloped roof. It is uncertain what this looked like on the interior as there are no photographs available and the building was damaged in WWII. However, as Foss also noted the existence of a niche in the vicinity, the structure was likely a large shrine. Items including four terracotta altars, three lamps, four plates, and a head of a figurine were found within the niche.
