Room function:

Commercial space (Hospitality)

Description:

On the east wall of the shop space was a semi-circular niche. The niche sat 0.90m above the floor and was referred to as a niche for the Penates by early scholars. The building was largely destroyed in WWII, and so the exact location of the shrine is uncertain.
