Structural type:
Niche
Room function:
Culina/Kitchen
Description:
In the eastern wall of the rear room was an arched niche. This was located 0.20m above a hearth. The niche originally had a tile projecting base. Photographs of the cult space indicate multiple layers of decoration, the most recent of which was a layer of white paint/stucco. This was over a previous layer of red stucco. Fragmentary pieces of plaster around the outside of the niche suggest the opening was framed by a red border.
