Located on the west wall of the large garden were two arched niches. One of the niches sat higher than the other, being 2.05m above the ground while the other sat 1.30m. The interior of the higher niche was coated with orange stucco, while the decoration of the lower did not survive. Boyce noted that he was uncertain if these were used as cult spaces at the time of the eruption.
