Description:
On the north wall of the garden was a shrine. It consisted of a deep square niche that sat 1.15m above the ground. The floor of the niche projected slightly in the form of a ledge with a moulded and painted stucco cornice running below it. The exterior edge of the niche was also decorated, with two pilasters with capitals flanking the opening. In the centre of the back wall was a small aedicula created by two columns and a pediment resting on a heavy projecting shelf. The back wall of this small aedicula was painted in imitation marble. On the right side wall of the niche was a large stucco relief of a laurel wreath with a serpent in the centre. A stucco cornice also ran around all three of the interior walls.
