Description:
On the northeast corner of the atrium was a recess that held a cult painting. The scene was divided into three zones. The centre of the upper zone was destroyed but on each side remained a bird perched on a garland. In the centre of the middle zone was the depiction of Fortuna with a rudder and cornucopia, with plants on either side of her. The lower register contained a serpent moving towards an altar. According to Giacobello, next to the painting was an arched niche with a protruding base. Neither the painting nor the niche survive within the recess today.
