Fauces

Description:

Located on the north wall of the fauces was a square niche, which sat 1.70m above the floor. It had an elaborate stucco aedicula façade, with holes in its floor for statuette bases. The back wall of the niche was painted white with a red border, with delicate flowers decorating the space. The engaged columns of the façade were painted yellow, their capitals red, white, and blue, which matched the bands of relief running along the architrave and cornices.
