Description:

On the west wall of the atrium was a shrine, consisting of a rectangular niche with a cult painting below. The interior of the niche was painted white with red blossoms and had a projecting tile base. The walls on either side of the niche were painted white with birds and plants decorating it. The painting below the niche is bordered by thick red lines. The painting depicted a cylindrical altar, which held an offering of two eggs, and two confronting serpents among myrtle blossoms. Both had their tongue touching the eggs on the altar. Above each snake was a small bird. A red, green, and yellow garland bordered the scene at the top. Two statuettes were found in this house and its believed that these come from this shrine. One statuette depicted Hercules with the lion skin, club, and apples of Hesperides, with the other depicting Minerva.
