Description:
Found on the southern side of the villa was a carved sandstone altar. The altar stood 0.42m high and was made up of three parts (base, shaft, and crown). Only three sides of the altar were fully carved indicating that the altar was located stuck to a wall. The altar was carved from local sandstone which contained inclusions of fragments of marine fossils. Circular holes were present on its upper surfaces believed to correspond to a brazier being placed in it. As it was found outside the excavated area of the house (of which only a few rooms were investigated), its location is uncertain.
