Description:
Found within the house were eight fragments of a cult painting. The painting depicted a high-quality image of a female deity believed to be Venus. The head is preserved from the neck up, showing that the deity was crowned and wore pearl earrings. She appears to have been the centre of the image. The head was framed by two red garlands from which white ribbons hung. To the right of the deity were fragments of plants or the laurel crown of another figure. The painting was set on a blue background and appears to have been framed by a reddish-brown band which was visible above the head of the deity. Evidence of mortar underneath the painting fragments indicates it was painted on top of an older painting. The full extent of the property is unknown.
